All The Queen's Horses plays two-week run at Gene Siskel Film Center beginning Nov. 10

All The Queen's Horses, the highly anticipated debut feature from director Kelly Pope Richmond, will come to the Gene Siskel Film Center for a two-week theatrical run beginning November 10.

This will be the Chicago theatrical premiere of the film, an Illinois story focusing on Rita Crundwell - the perpetrator of the largest municipal fraud in American history - who stole $53 million from the city of Dixon, IL, over the course of 20 years. Crundwell used the public funds to finance her quarter horse breeding empire. The film world premiered at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival, winning the festival's HBO Documentaries Spotlight Award for Best Documentary.

Director Kelly Richmond Pope will be present at the following screenings: November 10 (8 pm only), 11, 12, 13, 15, and 19.

Rita Crundwell stole more than $53 million of public funds across two decades in office as the City Comptroller and Treasurer for Dixon, Illinois, a town with a population of just 16,000. She used the funds to build one of the nation’s leading quarter horse breeding empires, and threw lavish parties, all while forcing staff cuts, police budget slashing, and neglect of public infrastructure. In 2012, after a close colleague turned whistleblower finally uncovered her scheme and alerted the Mayor, the FBI arrested Crundwell as the largest municipal fraud perpetrator in American history.
